Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

I used to be a big fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Back when these films developed and paid off character arcs within a single film, instead of drawing them out across several, cushioned between spectacle. Also, the 90s called. They want their squealing electric guitars back.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

All credit to Rian Johnson and his crew for Agatha Christie-ing yet another fabulous Benoit Blanc tale. Another brilliant ensemble cast, though the MVP is undoubtedly Janelle Monáe. CSI KFC FTW.

Wednesday

It took me a couple of sittings to finish the first episode… which tells me I’m not exactly the target audience for this series. But Jenna Ortega’s deadpan delivery was often enjoyable.

The Lost City

I must admit this film didn’t hold my full attention. So I’m not entirely sure what happened in the end. But I do recall thinking “that’s sweet”, “that’s funny” and “that’s Bowen Yang!!”

Marry Me

Just to be clear, I’m not asking you. I enjoyed this Rom-Com, despite its formulaic predictability. JLo and OWil are lovely in it.

Barry

I could have gone my whole life without seeing someone’s teeth be filed by Chechen gangsters. That being said, the writing of this show is excellent. I still don’t endorse contract killing.

Colin from Accounts

I laughed a few times in the first two episodes. Not a fan of poo jokes. But the payoff at the end of Ep 1 was permissible.

Irreverent

Why is it that most people of faith on the telly feel like they’ve been written by people who aren’t? Not a fan of the minister character. (The one who wasn’t eaten by the crocodile.)

Killing Eve

Wow. I normally don’t endorse assassination and I’m not about to start now. But I do like a show that subverts expectations. Now I’m googling psychopathy. I probably shouldn’t.

The White Lotus

I can’t believe I’ve lived this long before hearing Jennifer Coolidge repeat “I’m my own phallic mother… I’m my own vaginal father.” But the score vocalists sound like they are being surprised and tortured all at once. It made me very anxious. I tapped out half way through episode 3.
